Invoicing scams are either completely fabricated or maliciously altered invoices that change payment details to the scammer’s account. Logos can be copied, details can be replicated and sometimes a business itself could be hacked or impersonated.
There are many ways to avoid falling for the scam. Aside from ensuring your own business has adequate user training and email security, always call and confirm any unverified payment changes with company representatives. Beware of an urgent demand for payment.
