Case Study
Disaster Recovery Plan
The Client
Located in the western central Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, Beverley is less than 140km east of Perth. The Shire is home of a highly productive broad acre farming industry with a smaller diversified agricultural base, such as perennial horticulture, also finding a home here.
Project Summary
Business continuity for all the IT systems needed to be defined and tested. Focus Networks were engaged to refresh the IT DR Plan and undertake a disaster recovery simulation. The Project Implementation Service was activated.
The Strategy
A business continuity assessment with management defined the critical teams and key functions. Recovery time objectives were documented and referenced in the disaster recovery simulation. The existing IT disaster recovery solution was stressed tested. Three key tasks were completed:
• Business Impact Analysis
• Scheduled disaster recovery restoration
• Plan critique and sign off
Proven Results
The disaster recovery plan is a business requirement which includes our input. The disaster recovery simulation confirms our continuity in the event of an IT outage. Proactive and successful testing justifies the expenditure.
