Online Scams – December 24

By December 25, 2024No Comments

The current report from the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) tells us that the threats posed to Australian governments, businesses and households still exists. It states, “malicious state actors and cybercriminals are continuing to adapt their tradecraft in an attempt to compromise Australian networks”.

Even over Christmas and the New Year, we do need to stay vigilant which can be a challenge. In 2023–24, the ACSC says that the most common cybercrimes affecting individuals involved identity fraud (26%), online shopping fraud (15%) and online banking fraud (12%).

At Focus Networks, our narrative has not changed – “it is not if but when”. Now more than ever, some form of an incident management plan and response is required.

How do you best detect to then respond?
