Additional IT Helpdesk Support
The Client
The City of Vincent is a local government area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 10.4 square kilometres in metropolitan Perth. The City of Vincent maintains 139 km of roads and 104 ha of parks and gardens.
Project Summary
With an already busy IT team and a heavy roadmap of upcoming project works, a decision was made to introduce scalable operational support to augment internal staff resources. Focus Networks were engaged through the WALGA panel for desktop, server and network skills. The Managed Proactive Service was implemented.
The Strategy
An onsite induction welcomed two Focus Networks resources onsite. Secure access to internal IT support tools was configured. Support tasks were prioritised and accomplished before project tasks started. Three key duties are completed:
- Day to day desktop helpdesk support
- Active Directory/Group Policy tasks
- Adhoc server/network project works
Proven Results
Response times to desktop service tickets have improved significantly which helps support the work of City officers. Modifications to Active Directory prepare the City for a move to secure consumption of cloud services.
