Australia Worldwide: Special China Edition

Prod_44In a quarter of a century, the Australia-China relationship has become one of Australia’s key international partnerships.

China is Australia’s second most important export market and its fastest-growing source of international tourists and students. In turn, China looks to Australia as a strategic and reliable source of vital minerals and raw materials for its rapidly growing economy.

Australia Worldwide: Special China Edition profiles the many strategic opportunities that exist for Australia and China to work together to shape the future of both countries.

Madame Fu Ying, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Australia, officially launched the book at Parliament House in Canberra on Monday 6th June 2005.

Madame Fu remarked in her speech that she hoped the book would help to further strengthen the relationship between Australia and China, and suggested that it would be a valuable tool for Chinese people wishing to gain an insight into the Australian way of life.

With the endorsement of Project Patron John Howard and Project Ambassador Tim Fischer and guided by an Advisory Group of prominent Chinese and Australian business people, led by Dr. John Yu, this major publishing initiative will showcase Australian innovation and expertise to China‘s business and government leaders.
